Animals we saw while in Yellowstone and Grand Teton
(We also saw two wolves, but didn't have a long enough lens)
- Seeing the five bears in the meadow at the same time was a treat. They're all adults;
two males and three females. Apparently, it's mating time, according to the Rangers.
- The eagles were viewed going into the park from West Yellowstone. Either Mom or Dad can be seen
on the right of the nest, feeding a youngster. That's another youngster watching her
on the left side of the nest.
- The first coyote was stalking a young swan, until it heard a cow elk cry out. It then sprinted away.
-The "Mama Moose" photo (Jackson Lake Lodge, Tetons), would have been a great photo with the right camera.
One mama moose rose up to strike another when the second got too close to her calf. The photo
doesn't quite catch the second moose whirling and bolting away.
